The Christian church is right in the middle of celebrating the Easter season. It began on Easter day, where we lift the work of the cross to its pinnacle point throughout the year. No matter what time of year it is though, the point at which the cross of Christ becomes most fully revered is in the midst of our deepest points of pain and suffering. What Jesus represented for us is a beautiful paradox of how we can be in the midst of “death” and yet have hope for resurrection. How can it be that the way to life is through death, that there can be joy in suffering, that the way up is down? Only the Holy Spirit can teach us these things. I pray that as you find quiet settings where God’s voice can be heard, that his spirit breathes life into your painful places, and that this time of celebrating Easter becomes fully alive in you as you hope in the redemption story!
May the Peace of Christ be with you!
